2024 Alabama Election Results
Election Date: Mar. 5, 2024 | Updated 4:03 PM EST Mar. 6, 2024
Alabama is reliably deep red: Doug Jones was the last Democrat who won a statewide vote when he defeated Roy Moore for a Senate seat in 2017. Before that it was 2008. But – presidential primary aside – a different congressional seat will be the focus Tuesday. A federal court forced Alabama to carve out a second majority-minority congressional district over the state’s objection that doing so would violate the Voting Rights Act. The race for that District 2 seat is now expected to lean Democrat, and it’s one of several primaries that could be hotly contested across the state.
