2024 South Carolina Election Results

Election Date: Nov. 5, 2024 | Updated 2:39 PM EST Dec. 5, 2024
In 2024, President Joe Biden easily won South Carolina's Democratic primary. The state was the first in the nation to cast ballots for an official Democratic presidential primary in the 2024 primaries. After Biden announced that he would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, South Carolina delegates became free agents. But, hours after Biden stepped aside, those delegates voted to endorse Harris. Former President Donald Trump easily rolled to victory in the South Carolina Republican primary, easily defeating former Gov. Nikki Haley in her home state. Trump won 70% of the final votes in Spartanburg County, 69% of the vote in Anderson County and 57% in Greenville County, as well as decisive victories in other Upstate counties. South Carolina did not hold a Republican primary in 2020 in deference to Trump as the incumbent president. Trump would go on to lose the 2020 general election to Joe Biden.
