While Wisconsin has supported Democrats for president since 1988 with one exception, voters have chosen the national winner every year since 2008. In Wisconsin, only about 20,000 votes separated the top vote-getter four years ago when Joe Biden beat Donald Trump and eight years ago when Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton.
