Over 300,000 Ford, Lincoln vehicles recalled. See impacted models.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall of more than 300,000 vehicles manufactured by Ford Motor Company due to a defect that could increase the risk of a crash.
About 312,120 vehicles were potentially affected, as mentioned in the recall reported to the NHTSA on July 28 warning a "loss of power brake assist" could "extend stopping distance."
The NHTSA said the vehicle's Electric Brake Booster (EBB) could malfunction while driving or while using the Advanced Driver Assistance System.

What should consumers do?
According to NHTSA, owners will be notified via letter that will be mailed on August 25. The EBB software can be updated over-the-air or by a dealer at no additional cost.
