Windstar ship to get new French eatery
The new eatery coming to Windstar Cruises' flagship next month will have a French flair, the line announced this week.
The line says the 308-passenger Wind Surf's Degrees restaurant will reemerge on Dec. 1 as a contemporary, French-inspired dining room to be called Stella Bistro.
Windstar had announced plans to change the restaurant as part of a previously announced overhaul of the ship taking place this month but hadn't said what it would be.
The new restaurant will seat 86 people at a time and feature such French-influenced entrees as Coquille St. Jacques Provençale, a plate of seared, skewered scallops served on pappardelle tossed in a wine sauce with artichoke hearts, spinach and capers. Roasted duck, escargots and wild mushroom soup also will be on the menu.
Windstar says the eatery will boast all new furniture and flooring as well as a new wine display cabinet and a collection of classic and contemporary pendent lighting. The walls will be decorated with a mix of antique mirrors and vintage photographs.
There will be no extra charge for passengers to dine in the restaurant. A flight of wine pairings to go with the eatery's menu will cost $32 per person.
