Deal watch: Norwegian Cruise Line offers free upgrades

Norwegian Cruise Line is offering free upgrades as part of a promotion launched today.

The Upgrade Wave sales event lets customers book a balcony cabin for the price of an ocean-view cabin, or an ocean-view cabin for the price of a windowless "inside" cabin.

The offer is good on any Norwegian ship in any destination and will be available through Feb. 28.

As part of the promotion, customers also will receive $300 worth of e-coupons to use at on-board venues such as restaurants, and Norwegian is reducing the deposit amount required to hold a cabin on all sailings of three days or longer.
