Deal watch: Royal Caribbean cuts fares for kids

With an eye towards the family market, Royal Caribbean has reduced rates for third and fourth passengers sharing a cabin by as much as 50% on select cruises.

The deal applies to new bookings on select Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean and Europe sailings between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, a time period when school is in session and it's harder to attract cruisers with kids.

The discounted fares are from $99 per passenger for a three-night cruise and from $199 for a week-long sailing. Fares for the first two passengers in the cabin remain unaffected.

The sale runs through May 10.
