Deal watch: Norwegian offers free upgrades

Norwegian Cruise Line today kicked off a promotion that brings free upgrades with new bookings.

Under the terms of the month-long "Upgrade and Go" sales event, customers can book a balcony cabin for the price of an ocean-view cabin, or an ocean-view cabin for the price of a windowless "inside" cabin.

The promotion applies to sailings in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Florida, Hawaii and Europe, and continues through Aug. 3.

Norwegian says customers booking select sailings during the promotion also are eligible for up to $250 in on-board credit, plus up to $1,000 in air credits.
