Deal watch: Holland America offers free drinks, more

Holland America will kick off a promotion next week that brings on-board spending credits of up to $200 with new bookings.

The Explore4 offer, as it's being called, also will provide four added-value extras: A free Signature Beverage Package or beverage card, free specialty restaurant dinner, free or reduced fares for third and fourth passengers sharing the same cabin, and a 50% reduction in the amount of deposit required to hold a cabin.

The offer will be good on select December 2013 holiday cruises and 2014 sailings booked between Oct. 20 and 27.

Like a Royal Caribbean promotion announced earlier this week, the Holland America offer is timed to coincide with National Cruise Vacation Week, an industry-wide sales event that starts on Oct. 20.
