Deal watch: Star Clippers promotion targets singles
Solo travelers won't have to pay extra to sail on Star Clippers this May and June.
In a new promotion, the sailing ship line is waiving the extra charge for single travelers on 11 Mediterranean voyages, and offering price breaks of up to 58% off brochure rates, along with a one-category cabin upgrade.
The offer is available for the 227-passenger Royal Clipper's May 3, 10, 17 and 24 sailings; the 170-passenger Star Clipper's May 17 and 24 cruises; and the 170-passenger Star Flyer's May 3, 10, 17 and June 7 and 21 departures.
A caveat: Each sailing has limited space for singles and the offer is capacity-controlled.
The Royal Clipper is spending May sailing round-trip from Civitavecchia, Italy (the port for Rome) on seven-night voyages that call at Palmarola, Ponza, Sorrento and Amalfi, Italy; Taormina, Sicily; and Lipari in the Aeolian Islands.
The two Star Clipper sailings included in the promotion are seven-night trips out of Athens that include stops in Greece and Turkey. The Star Flyer sailings included in the promotion are seven-night trips in the Western Mediterranean.
Fares start at $1,591 for the Royal Clipper trips, $1,672 for the Star Clipper and Star Flyer voyages.
