Missed 'Cats' on Broadway? Now you can see it at sea
The world's largest cruise ship soon will feature performances of one of the world's most famous musicals.
Royal Caribbean says its record-size, 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas this fall will debut Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats in its main theater following a makeover of the vessel in dry dock.
The fully licensed production of the Tony Award-winning show will be available to passengers at no extra charge.
Based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, the musical Cats is the second longest-running production in Broadway history and has been seen in more than 20 countries.
Cats is just the latest Broadway show to make its debut on a Royal Caribbean ship. Other productions on the line's vessels include Hairspray, Chicago: The Musical and Saturday Night Fever.
Oasis of the Seas and sister ship Allure of the Seas are nearly 50% larger than the next largest cruise ships at sea and have been deployed year-round in the Caribbean since their debut.
