Deal watch: Cunard promotion brings upgrades, more
Cunard is out with a new promotion that brings an automatic upgrade from an ocean-view cabin to a balcony cabin with new bookings of select sailings.
The month-long offer also includes a waiver of the daily gratuities that the line normally charges to passenger accounts as well as a reduction in the amount of deposit needed to hold a cabin.
Under the terms of the promotion, customers booking most seven-, 14- and 21-day Mediterranean and Northern Europe voyages will be able to reserve a balcony cabin for the same fare as an ocean-view cabin.
The upgrade from an ocean-view to a balcony cabin is available only on select trans-Atlantic crossings and other itineraries to Canada/New England and the Caribbean voyages.
The gratuity waiver is available for up to two passengers per cabin. Cunard normally adds an $11.50 per person per day gratuity charge to the bills of passengers staying in standard cabins. Passengers staying in top Grill class cabins are charged a higher $13.50 per day.
Upgrade-eligible fares for Cunard sailings in Europe start at $1,199. Upgrade-eligible fares for other sailings start at $1,499. Sailings on all three of Cunard's ships -- the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria -- are included in the offer.
The promotion will continue through May 31. It applies to new bookings only and is capacity-controlled, subject to change, and may not be combined with any other public, group or past passenger discount. Customers should reference promotion code RDC when booking.
