Deal watch: Princess kicks off new '3 for free' offer

Princess Cruises is out with another "3 for free" promotion that brings on-board spending credits and other perks with new bookings.

Available through Oct. 16, the sales event encompasses sailings in Alaska, Europe and Japan taking place in 2015.

In addition to an on-board spending credit, customers who book during the promotion will get the best cabin within the cabin category they book and a free shore excursion credit.

The shore excursion credit will be $100 per person on Europe and Japan sailings; $50 per person on Alaska sailings. The on-board spending credit will be $50 per person on Europe and Japan sailings; $25 per person on Alaska sailings.

Fares for seven-night Alaska cruises included in the promotion start at $548 per person. Fares for 12-night Europe cruises start at $1,899 per person. Eight-night Japan cruises start at $1,399 per person.

The offer is available to residents of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
