Oceania Cruises unveils 27 new itineraries
Tired of the same old cruise itineraries? So, it seems, are the voyage planners at Oceania Cruises.
The upscale line on Thursday unveiled its schedule for late 2015 and early 2016, and more than half of the itineraries -- 27 out of 42 -- were new for the line.
The schedule calls for Oceania's five ships to spread out from Asia to South Africa to South America, and sailings will include stops at a dozen ports that Oceania ships have never before visited, including Jeju, South Korea and Luderitz, Namibia.
Other first-time stops will include Boracay Island, Philippines; Cooktown, Eden, Norfolk Island and Newcastle, Australia; Sanya, China; and Jamestown, Saint Helena.
Highlights of the season include two Amazon River voyages in South America, six transits of the Panama Canal and a roundtrip Cape Town sailing exploring the southern tip of Africa.
Oceania is known for unusual, destination-focused itineraries -- as well as longer sailings. Of the 42 itineraries, 32 are two-weeks in length or longer.
The voyages include a previously announced, 180-day around-the-world voyage on Oceania's 684-passenger Insignia that includes stops in South America, Africa and Asia.
Oceania's 684-passenger Regatta will spend the winter in the Americas, while sister ship Nautica will call Asia and South Africa home.
The line's 1,250-passenger Marina will open the season with back-to-back South American voyages before heading to the South Pacific. Sister ship Riviera will be based in the Caribbean.
