Exclusive: First look at luxury line Regent's new ship
What does the future of luxury cruising look like? Now you can see for yourself right here at Paste BN's Cruise Hub, which has the first artist's drawing of luxury line Regent Seven Seas' next ship.
Billed as the most luxurious cruise vessel of the modern era, the 738-passenger Seven Seas Explorer is under construction at a shipyard in Genoa, Italy and scheduled to debut in the summer of 2016.
As can be seen in the drawing, in the carousel above, the vessel's exterior has similarities to the biggest of Regent's three current vessels, the Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager. But at 54,000 tons, it'll be about 12% larger and have more interior space per passenger.
Like the Mariner and Voyager, Explorer will be an all-suite ship, and at $450 million, the most expensive luxury vessel ever built. Only a handful of luxury lines, including Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and Silversea Cruises, offer all-suite ships.
Regent today is unveiling a microsite dedicated to the Explorer where it will post updates on the ship's construction, yet-to-be-announced inaugural season details, public spaces and more. Among the microsite's features is a dedicated section for members of Regent's Seven Seas Society loyalty program.

Explorer's maiden voyage and inaugural season will open for booking on Jan. 19 for Seven Seas Society members and become widely available starting Feb. 11, the line says.
