Film stars of old to sail on movie-themed cruise


Always wanted to meet Eva Marie Saint? Here's your chance: The Academy Award-winning star of the 1950's North by Northwest andOn the Waterfront will be one of the headliners on the next TCM Classic Cruise, scheduled for November.

Cable channel Turner Classic Movies today will announced that Marie Saint as well as film stars Lou Gossett, Jr. (An Officer and A Gentleman, Enemy Mine) and Leslie Caron (An American in Paris, Gigi) have signed on for the five-night, classic movie-themed voyage on the 1,754-passenger Disney Magic.

Also on board will be Roger Corman (The Pit and the Pendulum, The Little Shop of Horrors), Ruta Lee (Witness For The Prosecution, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers) and quiz show icon Alex Trebek.

Producer, writer and actress Illeana Douglas, film noir expert Eddie Muller, and film historians Bruce Goldstein and Cari Beauchamp also will be on the sailing as well as film preservationist Randy Haberkamp.

As with four earlier TCM cruises, TCM hosts Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz will lead the voyage. It'll kick off Nov. 1 in Miami and include stops in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas.

The sailing will offer classic movie screenings, panel discussions with the stars and trivia contests. Fares start at $1,240 per person, based on double occupancy. More information is available online at tcmcruise.com.
