Deal watch: South Pacific cruises on sale

Paul Gauguin Cruises is out with a promotion on 10 voyages in the South Pacific that brings savings of up to $3,400 per person.

The discounted sailings on the upscale line's 332-passenger Paul Gauguin include nine seven-night trips to Tahiti and the Society Islands taking place over the winter. Departure dates range from Dec. 16, 2015 to March 26, 2016, with rates as low as $3,295 per person (down from $3,995).

Also marked down is an 11-night sailing to the Cook Islands and Society Islands departing on Dec. 5, 2015. It now starts at $4,595 per person, down from $5,695.

Under the terms of the 6th Anniversary Sale, as it's being called, customers must book by Aug. 31.
