New and notable: August discounts at NOLA eateries

The dog days of August bring COOLinary New Orleans to the Crescent City. More than 50 restaurants are offering discounted two- and three-course lunches and three-course dinners throughout the month.

Participating eateries include iconic spots such as Arnaud's, Court of Two Sisters, Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse and Galatoire's.

Sample discounts: Antoine's offers a 25-cent cocktail with its lunch special. Manning's has half-off pricing on house wines and drafts for those ordering from COOLinary menus.

Sample menu at GW Fins on Bienville Street: salmon tartare appetizer; Gulf seafood cioppino entrée; and pecan pie for dessert, all for $35.
