Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has two words for fans: Thank you.

The "Jersey Shore" star posted a message on his Instagram Story on Sunday, Sept. 29 thanking fans, friends and family who wrote to him while he was in prison.

“I received thousands of hand written letters that have touched my heart," Sorrentino said. "I am so grateful to have so much love and support from around the globe. The comeback is always better than the Setback.”

He signed off with “Love you guys !! Thank you” and a prayer emoji. The message was written in a letter format.

Mike Sorrentino completed his eight month prison sentence for tax evasion at Federal Correctional Institute Otisville in New York on Sept. 12. His brother Marc Sorrentino remains in federal prison for a similar conviction.

“Oh my God, to be a free man, to be honest with you, it’s awesome,” said Sorrentino to Entertainment Tonight. “It’s fantastic. I have my beautiful wife next to me. I’m healthy, I’m sober, back at work with my best friends on the No. 1 show on MTV and just living the dream.”

So far, he’s been posting pics of his new physique since he’s been out -- Sorrentino lost 36 pounds in prison thanks to working out and a fasting regiment.

“I had to continually challenge myself, whether it was in the gym, and or diet,” he told ET. “I was reading books, the Bible and trying to progress spiritually as well. Because if you do not keep yourself busy in there … I saw a lot of guys that weren’t doing those things and you saw depression and anxiety take control.”

“I felt very accomplished staying busy in prison,” he added.

Sorrentino has also been spending time with his wife Lauren around their Long Branch, New Jersey, ocean front home since he’s been out. The couple went out for dinner in the area last week and they had a couples dinner with cast mate Deena Cortese, her husband Chris Buckner and their baby boy, Christopher John over the weekend, according to his Instagram.

A “Game Night Situation,” Mike called it.
