Demi Lovato has a lot to celebrate.

Two years after her near-fatal drug overdose on July 24, 2018, Lovato is on "cloud nine." The star's happily engaged to the "love of my life" and has made a musical comeback marked by impressive performances at the Grammys and Super Bowl in January and February, respectively.

"My life has become something beyond my wildest dreams… only 2 years after that terrible day," she wrote in a message posted to Twitter and Instagram.

Lovato, 27, reflected on her personal journey to mark the second anniversary of her hospitalization in Los Angeles, which she refers to as "my miracle day."

"I'm so blessed to have one. It represents how the (doctors) at Cedars-Sinai saved my life," Lovato wrote. "I can genuinely say I feel free of my demons. Each and every one. I never thought this feeling was possible."

Despite falling in love and getting engaged to "Young and the Restless" actor Max Ehrich on Wednesday, Lovato credits her new look on life to her own self-love and faith.

"It's not just because I fell in love (although that didn't hurt), but because over the past 2 years, I've done more work on myself than I have in my entire life," she wrote. "Things that used to keep me down for weeks or even months, pass like tropical storms because my relationship with God has provided me infinite security."

She continued: "Long before I had an engagement ring on my ring finger, I had the word 'me' (tattooed) to remind myself that no matter what, I vow to love myself. You can't fully love another without loving yourself first."

Lovato thanked God for "giving me the strength to fight through my darkest times" and expressed gratitude to her friends, family and fans for "always supporting me and respecting my privacy regarding this journey."

The singer accompanied her message with a black-and-white video of herself on the way to her beach proposal: "@maxehrich took this after telling me to close my eyes on the way to propose to me."

In a comment under the post, Ehrich called his new fiancé "the most resilient, strong, compassionate, beautiful angel." He added, "I cannot imagine my world without you in it and I’m grateful beyond words that God kept you here. I love you so much and can’t wait for our future."

Lovato responded: "I couldn’t be more in love with you.. it’s not possible. But I’ll say the same thing in 10 minutes... i love you infinitely."

Rumors began swirling about a relationship between Lovato and Ehrich earlier this year and were confirmed in Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's May music video for "Stuck With You," during which the couple shared a video of themselves kissing in quarantine.

In 2011, Ehrich posted on Twitter that all he wanted "for Christmas was Demi Lovato."

"#cantalwaysgetwhatyouwant," he added, though it appears nearly nine years later that he can.
