Emmys 2020: Regina King, Zendaya, more favorite looks, from virtual red-carpet glam to loungewear
The Emmy Awards skipped the red carpet Sunday due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that didn't stop stars from showing up (virtually) in style.
Some opted for full-on glam to help present awards or even to be on camera at remote locations. Others took advantage of being at home to virtually attend the event as comfortable as possible, including pajamas and other low-key looks.
Here are some of our favorite looks of the evening:
Zendaya
The "Euphoria" actress, who helped present a segment during the show, didn't let the virtual Emmys stop her from going full-out in the fashion department. She slayed in a purple Christopher John Rogers ensemble paired with a matching purple necklace from Bulgari.
The style star also wowed in a second look from Giorgio Armani while accepting the award for best lead actress in a drama series.
Regina King
King, who won an award for her role in "Watchmen," made a statement with her look, which included a hot pink suit and a shirt that featured Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old Black woman who was unarmed when shot and killed by police inside her Louisville home in March. The shirt also featured the text: "Say her name."
Uzo Aduba, who won an award for "Mrs. America," also brought awareness to Taylor, wearing a black shirt with her name written on it in gold lettering.
Jameela Jamil
We loved that the "Good Place" actress had no problem sharing her relatable, at-home awards show look. She showed off her pajamas and colorful Markarian NYC Lost My Heart ombre sequin coat dress on Instagram, writing, "No bra? No heels? NO PROBLEM."
Sandra Oh
Another favorite casual look of the night came from this "Killing Eve" star. Oh dressed things down in flared jeans by L’Agence and a bomber jacket from KORELIMITED, the embroidery of which honors the Black Lives Matter movement.
Daniel Levy
The actor, whose show "Schitt's Creek" swept the comedy categories with seven awards, rocked a sleek Thom Browne kilt suit. He paired the look with tall black socks, boots and his signature glasses.
Tracee Ellis Ross
The "Black-ish" star was a glimmering beacon of light at the Emmys with her golden Alexandre Vauthier gown. "Can’t say I miss the frenetic energy of the red carpet or wearing heels but boy do I miss a pretty dress!" she wrote on social media. She also taught everyone a lesson on how to make a face mask fierce!
Laverne Cox
While presenting the award for outstanding directing for a drama series, Cox stunned in a semi-sheer black gown by Kim Kassas Couture. She made the look even more interesting with a grey bob and a dark lip.
Jeremy Strong
Sometimes it's the little things. Such was the case with this "Succession" star's Emmys look, which won us over thanks to his stylish tie. His tie wasn't the only winner of the night, Strong also won the award for lead actor in a drama series.
