Savannah Guthrie gets emotional birthday surprise: Watch Andrea Bocelli perform song for her

Savannah Guthrie blew out the candles for her 50th birthday but the surprise she received from Jenna Bush Hager and the "Today" show team truly took the cake.
The anchor celebrated the milestone on Dec. 27 but on Tuesday her co-anchor and friend Hager revealed what she considered an "ultimate birthday gift" for Guthrie: a special serenade from Andrea Bocelli in New York City's Madison Square Garden.
"I think she'll be in for a surprise of a lifetime," Hager said before the big reveal.
Hager guided a blindfolded Guthrie through empty rows of the large concert venue and sat her front-and-center. Hager lifted the blindfold just as Bocelli and his daughter Virginia, began serenading her with Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."
Guthrie gasped in excitement and awe for the private concert, occasionally wiping tears from her cheek.

"I want Savannah to know that in 50 years she's done so much, she's brought so many people happiness, and that she's so special," an emotional Hager said.
Guthrie also celebrated 10 years at "Today" show in June after joining the third hour of "Today" in 2011. Prior to that, she was a White House correspondent and chief legal analyst for NBC News. She became a co-anchor of the show in 2012.

Tuesday, Guthrie posted about the birthday surprise on Instagram writing "Still. Have. Chills." in the caption and thanking Bocelli and Hager for the experience.
"I still kinda can't believe it," Guthrie told her co-anchors after showing them the clip of the excursion. "The whole thing was incredible."
In November, Hager also celebrated a milestone birthday on-air and co-host Hoda Kotb gave her several special 40th birthday surprises including a personal message from Reba McEntire and a cake and birthday song presented by Mickey Guyton.
"I'm shaking and I need Kleenexes," Hager said when she saw Guyton. "The fact that you are here? I'm dead."
