Simu Liu is addressing a "not great altercation" on social media detailing his recent book signing in Philly.

The "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" actor revealed that after leaving his book signing event in Philadelphia for his recent release, "We Were Dreamers," he was followed by an autograph seeker and further harassed after they threw soda at Liu's car.

Liu, 33, shared details about the encounter on Twitter Wednesday, providing photos of the autograph seeker's car and revealing that the people in the car removed their front license plate so Liu's team "couldn't ID them."

"Thankfully we had someone at the event venue documenting so we will get them and file a report with the authorities," the post read. "We're just a bit shook that this could happen.

Paste BN has reached out Liu's reps and local police for more information.

The book signing took place Tuesday at Philadelphia's Kimmel Cultural Campus as part of his book tour that began in late May and will continue until June 20 in Boston.

"Look, I'm trying to have a real moment with my audience," Liu tweeted. "If you come to my events and harass me or make me or my fans uncomfortable, there's no chance in hell I'm going to sign for you. Don't cross that line," Liu tweeted.

Movie and TV writer Sydney McIntire sent thoughtful words to Liu, writing. "I'm super sorry Simu. I can’t imagine how triggering that was. Please take care and I’m rooting for great success for you and your book."

Liu responded saying the act was "indicative of a really toxic culture of autograph seekers."

"At the end of the day it was just a couple bottles of soda, Liu wrote. "(Some autograph seekers) are willing to cross personal boundaries just to make a buck. I'm not rewarding that behaviour."

Liu's "We Were Dreamers," tells the actor's origin story of growing up a Chinese immigrant in Canada, battling cultural stereotypes and defying expectations to forge his own path.

The actor's book tour became sold out in many cities including London, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Despite the Philly incident, Liu announced he was adding more stops on tour on his Instagram Tuesday.
