Ben Kweller, singer who's collaborated with Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, reveals son Dorian has died at 16
Ben Kweller, a singer-songwriter and founding member of the post-grunge band Radish, has revealed his 16-year-old son has died.
Kweller, 41, announced on Instagram Tuesday that his son Dorian Zev Kweller, whom he shared with his wife Liz Kweller, "was killed last night." He did not provide a cause of death in his post.
Paste BN has reached out to a representative for Kweller for further comment.
Kweller described his son as "a true legend" and the "kindest, gentle soul, a friend to all." Like his father, Dorian was a singer, writing and recording his own music.
"We’ll never get over him as long as we’re here on earth," he continued. "Please keep his spirit alive with your memories and the music he made."
According to Kweller's post, Dorian was set to play his first gig in two weeks at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
"Only a few of his recordings were released but he was on a path and excited about his journey," Kweller added. "My last text with him was about the merch he wanted to make. My baby boy was at the starting line with so much life ahead of him… I have no idea why things like this happen. We’re in complete shock and don’t know what the future holds."
Ben Kweller has released six solo albums and collaborated with several artists, including Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez. He made his acting debut in the 2014 film "Rudderless" alongside Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Felicity Huffman, Gomez and Laurence Fishburne.
He married Liz Kweller in 2003.
