Joe Jonas confesses to soiling his pants on stage: 'It's happened to many artists'
Joe Jonas just couldn’t hold it in anymore.
For years, the actor and singer has kept secret a gastrointestinal mishap he once had on stage.
But the Jonas Brother confessed for the first time on a recent airing of the Will & Woody radio show that he had an accident while wearing white pants “about four years ago.” In 2019, the Jonas Brothers announced they were getting back together after a six-year hiatus and embarked on their Happiness Begins Tour later that year.
When asked to share a story he's never made public, the 33-year-old revealed that he was recently talking to friends about the last time they soiled their pants. The incident caused him to do a mid-set wardrobe change, he explained.
“Let’s just say it was a bad day to choose to wear white clothing. You think it might’ve been a little something else, a little something extra,” he said. “So that’s a story I’ve never told, and also that’s just real life.”
Joe Jonas says ‘many artists’ poop their pants on stage
But did anyone notice Jonas’ accident?
“The whole time I thought, ‘Somebody’s going to be able to see this and know what’s happening. They’re going to realize. But it was all in my head, you know what I mean? It wasn’t as big of a deal as I thought,” Jonas said.
“Such is life. It’s happened to many artists, so I feel like I’ve paid my dues and I’m part of some secret club now, you know?” he added.
He is "Only Human," after all.
Jonas is in good company when it comes to soiling one’s pants in front of a massive crowd. In 2015, Ed Sheeran told Entertainment Tonight that he would break wind on stage "all the time.”
"I actually once misjudged a fart on stage," the British singer said. "It was, like, midway through a performance and I was like, kind of really lively. And halfway through I was like, 'All right, I'm just going to stand still for the rest of this performance and hope it’s over soon and then go home and throw these trousers out.”
Beginning in August, Jonas will be back on stage when the Jonas Brothers embark on a 37-date U.S. tour for their latest record, “The Album.”
