Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine arrested for alleged parole violation

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is in custody in New York after a judge ordered his detainment on Tuesday for allegedly violating the conditions of his parole.
The 28-year-old rapper, born Daniel Hernández, was detained on an arrest warrant and later arraigned in a Manhattan, New York, federal court on claims he violated the conditions of his supervised release, according to an order signed by United States District Judge Paul A. Englemayer Tuesday and obtained by Paste BN.
The claims include allegations the rapper had skipped and failed drug tests and did not get required permission to travel to Las Vegas for a performance in September, according to the Associated Press. Hernández pleaded not guilty and will remain in custody for the next two weeks until his next court date, according to the AP and Billboard.
The rapper's next court date, an evidentiary hearing, is scheduled for Nov. 12.
Paste BN has reached out to Hernández's lawyer for comment.
The judge also cited Hernández's violation of a court order to remain in the Dominican Republic following his arrest for domestic violence, the AP reported.
The "Gummo" rapper is on parole after serving two years in prison for a 2019 racketeering case where he was charged with joining a gang known as the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, the AP reported at the time. His sentence was reduced because he served as a witness for prosecutors in the case.
In 2020, Hernández served the last four months of his sentence in home confinement out of concern that the "Fefe" rapper, who has asthma, would be at risk for COVID-19 in federal prison.
