Robbie Williams officiates wedding at 'Better Man' movie event: 'Not legally binding'

Robbie Williams is the "Better Man" for the job.
During a Q&A following a screening of his new musical biopic in New York City, the British singer officiated the wedding of two audience members in attendance, according to social media photos shared from the event.
"At today's BETTER MAN Q&A in NYC, Robbie Williams was vulnerable, receptive to the audience's energy, took time to have a heart to heart with his daughter, and then a man in the audience asked him, as an ordained minister, to officiate a marriage with his fiancé," blogger @EzraCubero captioned the X post on Sunday. "Incredible."
Another X user captured the moment on video.
"By the power vested in me by absolutely nobody – and it's not legally binding, but it's legally binding in your heart and your heart and my heart, do you say I do?" said Williams, 50, before getting the color-coordinated couple's I-dos and calling for a round of applause.
Director Michael Gracey's eccentric biopic/jukebox musical, in theaters nationwide, follows the life and career of the British pop star, though as a computer-generated ape man. Williams plays his chimp-self and narrates the film, which was nominated for a Golden Globe for best original song, for the track "Forbidden Road."
Williams told Paste BN that the chimp-pic was "The Greatest Showman" director's idea.
He said he was "completely and utterly obsessed" with Gracey's idea that his musical biography depicts him as a primate. "I'm just like a performing monkey," Williams would often tell Gracey, with whom he became friends during "The Greatest Showman" period.
The choice "has done what it was supposed to do, which is to get people talking and be contentious," Williams continued. "I would say it's about eight to 12 minutes where the audience is going, 'What?' and then you completely forget and you're taken on a ride that you've never seen."
