'Duck Dynasty' star 'Uncle Si' Robertson, 76, recovering from fall after duck hunting trip
"Duck Dynasty" star Silas "Uncle Si" Robertson is recovering after a fall during a hunting trip.
Robertson, 76, who is set to appear in the reboot of the hit A&E show, landed in the hospital after a duck hunting trip in Arkansas, his friends shared on an episode of the "Duck Call Room" podcast Thursday.
Family friend Justin Martin recalled the incident, saying the winter trip took a turn when the television personality fell out of a boat onto a bank and on top of his oxygen machine.
Robertson brushed off concerns about his condition, but later, the group noticed him acting peculiar. When the hunting group went to eat breakfast, they found him uncharacteristically sitting outside in the cold. "Then he ate, and he was real quiet — another red flag, boy ain't never quiet," Martin said.
He continued to brush off concerns until the next day, when Martin got a text that Uncle Si was in the emergency room. Robertson had low oxygen and some bruised ribs, but the group said they're expecting a "full recovery."
A&E announced a reboot of "Duck Dynasty" in a press release on Wednesday, saying the show will follow the Robertson family as "they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy."
The reboot, "Duck Dynasty: The Revival," will follow family heir Willie Robertson and his wife Korie along with their sprawling family of six children who live on the family's Louisiana land — with Uncle Si and Miss Kay among those returning. A&E has ordered two seasons, with 20 episodes each, of the reboot.
The original series followed the Robertson family, led by controversial patriarch Phil Robertson, and their Louisiana-based Duck Commander duck-calling business. The conservative-leaning Louisianans' return to TV was announced amid President Donald Trump's return to office.
The Robertson's adult children – "Dancing with the Stars" alum Sadie Robertson and her siblings John Luke, Will, Bella and Rebecca – and their families are also a part of the cast.
