Harrison Ford drops out of Oscars presenting gig after shingles diagnosis: Reports

Harrison Ford will not present at the Oscars today, dropping out after he was diagnosed with shingles, according to reports.
The 82-year-old "Indiana Jones" star is doing okay and resting, Entertainment Weekly first reported, as well as Variety. Ford's reps confirmed the diagnosis to Paste BN.
Shingles occurs when the varicella-zoster virus reactivates in a body that has already had chickenpox, which is caused by the same virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms include painful, itchy rashes. More severe complications include postherpetic neuralgia, or long-term nerve pain. Shingles are fairly common – about 30% of Americans will get the illness in their lifetime.
The "1923" star was at last weekend's Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, where his "Shrinking" co-star Jessica Williams poked fun at him for eating during her "I Am An Actor" speech.
"I told him to turn away!" she laughed as Ford took a bite and ducked behind her from sight. "Don't look."
He also recently spoke to Paste BN about his work with onscreen love interest Helen Mirren in "1923," where the pair play Cara and Jacob Dutton in Season 2 of the Prohibition drama.
"If we're the backbone then I'm the bone, and she's the back," Ford joked of his screen partner.
Conan O'Brien will host the 97th Academy Awards Sunday, which air live at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. You can stream the broadcasted show on ABC, ABC.com, the ABC app, Hulu, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV and Fubo TV. Other presenters include Joe Alwyn, Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Selena Gomez, Ben Stiller, Amy Poehler, Halle Berry, Robert Downey Jr. and more.
