'Ghost Adventures' star files for divorce after wife arrested in murder-for-hire plot
Aaron Goodwin has filed for divorce a week after the "Ghost Adventures" star's wife was arrested on suspicion of a murder plot, with the TV personality as the intended target.
Clark County, Nevada, court records reviewed by Paste BN show Aaron Goodwin, 48, filed a complaint for divorce on March 12. Goodwin's attorney declined to comment. Paste BN reached out to the county clerk for more information.
Us Weekly was the first to report the news of the divorce.
Authorities arrested Victoria Goodwin, 32, on March 6 on suspicion of two felony charges: solicitation to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder, according to county court records. She has been held on $100,000 bail.
According to a criminal complaint against Victoria Goodwin, filed March 8 and obtained by Paste BN March 14, the Clark County District Attorney's Office claims she "hire(d), command(ed) or otherwise solicit(ed)" up to two individuals to "commit the murder of Aaron Goodwin." They say she conspired with a man via cell phone communications to have her husband "killed by a third party by providing the location of the victim and providing funds to pay for the murder."
Her next hearing is set for March 25.
Victoria Goodwin allegedly told police she and Aaron were 'going through problems in their marriage'
According to Victoria Goodwin's arrest report, which was obtained by Paste BN March 17, Investigators uncovered the alleged plot through Victoria Goodwin's text and Facebook message communications with an inmate in Florida, which were revealed after the inmate's cell phone was seized by correction officers in October. Investigators said the two were conspiring to hire a third party to murder Aaron Goodwin.
The police report for Victoria Goodwin's arrest references alleged messages between her and the inmate. Per investigators, in one of the communications she asks whether she's "a bad person" and added "because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce." She also shared information about her husband's whereabouts at one point, according to police.
The Office of the Inspector General was notified of the alleged murder-for-hire plot on March 4, per the report.
Las Vegas Police served a search warrant of the Goodwins' residence, and Victoria Goodwin was questioned by a detective, per the arrest report. During the interview, she revealed she had become aware of the Florida inmate "through a true crime documentary and began writing to him," the arrest report said.
Victoria Goodwin allegedly confirmed her phone number was the same one that had communications with the inmate's seized phone and said the two were pen pals from May through November 2024.
"Victoria explained at the time of the text messages" with the inmate, "she and Aaron were going through problems in their marriage. She further described being lonely and began connecting" with the Florida inmate, the report states. When asked about "texts soliciting and conspiring to murder Aaron," police said "she denied wanting her husband to be killed" and denied remembering those specific messages.
Paste BN has reached out to Victoria Goodwin's listed attorney for comment.
