Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months after speeding in England last year.

Watson, 35, already had nine points on her license, and the incident resulted in a £1,044 fine, equivalent to just under $1,400, issued during a hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 16. The "Harry Potter" alum drove 38 mph in a 30 mph zone in Oxford, England, on an evening in July 2024, according to BBC and The Independent.

Watson did not attend the brief hearing. The "Beauty and the Beast" star has been studying creative writing at the University of Oxford since 2023.

Paste BN has reached out to Watson's reps for comment.

Amid her studies, Watson has kept a low profile publicly and on the silver screen. Her last major film appearance was the 2019 coming-of-age drama "Little Women," an adaptation of the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott.

She also made a rare appearance in France for the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Watson is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the eight-part film series "Harry Potter" from 2001 to 2011. The film series is currently being rebooted for television by HBO, with young actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout taking on the roles originated by Daniel Radcliffe, Watson and Rupert Grint, respectively.
