“Law & Order: SVU” stars Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish were recently spotted getting “jiggy” with it.

Hargitay and Giddish, best known for playing Capt. Olivia Benson and Sgt. Amanda Rollins on the popular “Law & Order” spinoff, recently recreated the line dance set to the tune of the show’s iconic theme song, which has taken social media by storm in recent weeks.

“Special Dance Unit 💃 #SVU” NBC joked.

All of the fuss (and pleas for the famous co-stars to participate) began shortly after Cleveland-based dancer Stephon Vann posted a clip of him and his friends dancing to the routine he choreographed on July 24.

The video, viewed over 20 million times, has spawned reenactments from fans across social media, including the Savannah Bananas, a Savannah, Georgia-based exhibition barnstorming baseball team and members (and sisters) of American rock band HAIM.

Even Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson of “Dancing with the Stars” fame got in on the action. Watch Capt. Olivia Benson and Sgt. Amanda Rollins busts a move to the theme song below.

Hargitay, determined to get it right, is seen counting out the steps audibly while Giddish tries to follow her lead as best as she can. In the 13-second clip, Hargitay and Giddish also appear to be wearing their characters’ outfits.

Diehard fans were just tickled to see Hargitay and Giddish bust a move, with some taking the time to offer praise or commentary.

“I just saw Olivia Benson and Amanda Rollins doing that Law and Order dance and I just don’t even know how to feel,” a fan wrote in an X post dated Aug. 2.
