Just in time, a guardian angel sent from heaven rescues the man and shows him what his town would have been like without his good deeds over the years. The heart-felt classic runs two hours and 10 minutes.
Directed by Frank Capra, "It's a Wonderful Life" stars James Stewart as the main character, George Bailey; Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore. The film's most iconic line is, "When a bell rings, an angel get it's wings."

"It's a Wonderful Life" is rated PG, meaning children can watch it. Common Sense Media, an online resource that provides media rating and reviews, advises that children nine and up are of a suitable audience.
The film discusses suicidal ideation and the main character, George Bailey, expresses some violence, including involvement in a fistfight and knocking over furniture. However, no gruesome content is depicted throughout the movie.
