Though movie leads are the front and center of any great film, supporting actors often deliver the breakout performance.

At this Sunday's 97th Academy Awards ceremony, one of five male performers will take home the Oscar statue for best actor in a supporting role. The category is almost entirely first-time nominees, except for "A Complete Unknown" star Edward Norton, who has previously received acting nods in 2015, 1999 and 1997 but has yet to win.

"Succession" alumni Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong are both nominated after winning an Emmy for their roles as on-screen siblings in the HBO series. The film academy is recognizing Culkin for his performance in the dramedy "A Real Pain" and Strong for his role in the historical drama "The Apprentice."

Here is the full list of nominees for best actor in a supporting role.
