'Lilo & Stitch' releases on digital VOD: Where to watch

"Lilo & Stitch" are coming home.
The live-action reimagining of Disney's beloved animated classic officially made its way onto select digital platforms on July 22, a couple months after the film premiered in U.S. theaters.
"(Lilo & Stitch) brings new energy into the hilarious and heart-warming tale of Lilo and her cute-yet-chaotic adopted 'pet' Stitch," Disney said in a statement. "Lush tropical settings provide welcoming visuals as warm as the 'found family' that Lilo and Stitch create together, while also authentically honoring the cultures and beauty of Hawai’i."
The remake has proved to be a profitable venture for Disney, grossing approximately $1 billion (and counting) at the global box office. Given its significant commercial success, it should come as no surprise that a sequel is "currently in development," according to Disney.
Paste BN's Brian Truitt gave the film ★★½ out of four, writing that "Director Dean Fleischer Camp’s family adventure feels like an excessively earnest Disney Channel movie compared with the delightfully unhinged 2002 cartoon."
"That's great for those who want more of a human connection but not so much if you’re more jazzed about Stitch wrecking a bunch of stuff," Truitt adds.
Here's what to know about the "Lilo & Stitch" digital release, including when it will be available to stream.
