Justin Bieber goes country with new Dan + Shay collaboration '10,000 Hours'
Justin Bieber is going country with the help of Grammy-winning duo Dan + Shay – at least for one song (and accompanying music video).
Bieber and Dan + Shay collaborated on the duo’s new single “10,000 Hours,” which is the first song from their upcoming fourth album. “10,000 Hours” is a follow-up to Bieber’s Ed Sheeran duet “I Don’t Care,” which was released earlier this year.
The men started teasing the song earlier this week. Bieber, who walked down the aisle for a second time with his wife Hailey Baldwin in South Carolina on Monday, posted: "New music. Wedding music. @danandshay and this guy.” Baldwin also appears in the music video, cozying up with her husband.
Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney attended Bieber’s wedding celebration with their wives. Following the ceremony, Mooney’s wife Hannah posted a classic back and white portrait of herself and Mooney with the caption: “To the sweetest, most thoughtful couple... may your marriage be as beautiful as this night of celebration ❤️ @justinbieber + @haileybieber -Love, The Mooney’s.”
For Dan + Shay, “10,000 Hours” comes on the heels of three No. 1 country hits- “All to Myself,” and multi-week chart-toppers “Tequila” and “Speechless.”

Smyers and Mooney co-wrote the song with Bieber alongside Jessie Jo Dillon, Jordan Reynolds and Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd. The contemporary harmony-rich mid-tempo was also produced by Smyers.
Lyrics include: I’d spend 10,000 hours and 10,000 more, oh if that’s what it takes to learn that sweetheart of yours. And I might never get there, but I’m gonna try, if it’s 10,000 hours or the rest of my life. I’m gonna love you.

Dan + Shay are among the most-nominated artists at the upcoming CMA Awards. They are listed in categories including Duo of the Year, Album and Single of the Year with Smyers picking up an additional nod for co-writing “Tequila” that is nominated for Song of the Year.
The duo was also named one of the top country artists of the year by CMT. The television network will celebrate Dan + Shay along with Ashley McBryde, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett at its 10th annual “CMT Artists of the Year” special, which will air Oct. 16 on the network.
