The evening was hosted by Robert Downey Jr. and produced by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler.

“Trudie Styler and Sting have been committed to protecting the world’s rain forests and supporting the human rights of the indigenous peoples who live within them,” said a news release from show organizers. “All proceeds from the benefit concert will go directly to the protection and support of the Indigenous people and their land, for they are the best protectors of this vital element of our ecosystem.”

The Rainforest Fund was founded by Sting and Styler in 1989, and the first all-star benefit took place in 1991 at Carnegie Hall. Springsteen participated in the shows in 1995, 2010 and 2016.
