The Chicks cancel Thursday night Nashville concert at Bridgestone Arena

Due to an unspecified illness, the trio comprised of Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer will not appear at the venue

Due to an unspecified illness, The Chicks have announced that they will postpone their Thurs. July 27 concert at Bridgestone Arena.

The group announced Friday rescheduled tour dates for Sept. 23 at Bridgestone Arena, a Sept. 21 date in Knoxville and an Aug. 8 rescheduled date in Greensboro, NC.

The trio comprised of Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer were slated to play -- with Canadian, Juno Award-winning trio Wild Rivers opening. The event would have been The Chicks' first concert in Nashville since 2016, though they did appear at 2022's Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn.

"We are working on rescheduling and will provide a new show date as soon as possible. Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets for the newly scheduled date. The Chicks are looking forward to seeing their Nashville fans soon and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause," read a prepared statement released at 4:21 p.m. CT.

The "Wide Open Spaces" performers are currently on a three-dozen-plus date world tour wherein Ben Harper and Maren Morris are also performing on selected dates as opening acts.

Dates follow the band's 2020 announcement of dropping the term"Dixie" from their name, plus releasing 'Gaslighter," their first album in nearly 15 years.

There is no word about whether the unspecified illness will impact forthcoming dates on July 29-30 in Knoxville, Tenn. and Greensboro, North Carolina, respectively.
