Bob Bryar, former My Chemical Romance drummer, dies at 44: Reports

Bob Bryar, a former drummer for the rock band My Chemical Romance, has died. He was 44.
News of Bryar's death was confirmed in a statement from the band provided to CNN and NBC News. No information about the cause of death was disclosed.
"The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob's passing," the statement said.
Paste BN has reached out to representatives for My Chemical Romance.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance as drummer, replacing Matt Pelissier, following the debut of its 2004 album "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge." He later worked on My Chemical Romance's acclaimed 2006 record "The Black Parade."
In 2007, Bryar shared that he was having problems with his wrist, leading to the cancellation of a My Chemical Romance show.
"I have seen many doctors to get some relief so I wouldn't have to stop playing," he wrote on Myspace. "I guess I pushed it too hard this time. During our show at Maxwell's I got a golf ball-sized lump in my wrist, I started to not only have pain, but lose control and feeling in my fingers."
Bryar left My Chemical Romance in 2010, the same year the band released its album "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys."
At the time, guitarist Frank Iero described Bryar's exit as a "painful decision for all of us to make" that "was not taken lightly," adding, "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same." Bryar was the longest-tenured drummer for My Chemical Romance.
Bryar later worked in real estate, and in 2021, he shared that he was "permanently closing the book on my drumming days," according to Loudwire. Before his time with My Chemical Romance, he was a sound engineer and tour manager.
"I left a very good touring gig where I was tour managing and doing sound," he said in a 2016 interview with Alternative Press. "...I was so happy to receive the offer. Long before we recorded 'Welcome To The Black Parade,' I knew that (My Chemical Romance) were special and I wanted in. I wanted to help evolve the band and be able to shred with them every night."
My Chemical Romance broke up in 2013 but reunited in 2019. Last month, the band announced a 2025 tour to perform "The Black Parade."
