The boy is (still) theirs: Brandy and Monica reunite for The Boy is Mine Tour

After their 1998 megahit "The Boy is Mine," Brandy and Monica will embark on their first-ever joint tour.

Brandy and Monica haven't had enough, and they're headed to a city near you.

The R&B powerhouses are set to hit the road on The Boy is Mine Tour, pegged to their 1998 megahit of the same name. The record, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, became one of the defining music moments of the '90s. The Grammy Award-winning duo would go on to release platinum-selling records and inspire a new generation of artists, including Ariana Grande, whose own "The Boy is Mine" record featured a remix with the pair in 2024.

Now embarking on their first coheadlining tour, Brandy and Monica will be joined by singers Kelly Rowland, Muni Long and 2025 "American Idol" winner Jamal Roberts.

The 24-city The Boy is Mine Tour will kick off in Cincinnati this October and wrap up in Houston in December.

Here's what to know about the tour.

Brandy and Monica feud fueled drama, then legendary collaboration

In the 1990s, Brandy and Monica were two young starlets pitted against each other, so much so that they decided to run with the feud rumors straight into a hit record.

"The Boy is Mine," an R&B-pop novella and vocal tit for tat about a man both were dating, earned both women their first No. 1 crossover hit and (surprisingly) the only Grammy award for either, for best R&B performance by a duo or group.

In the 27 years since the release of the record, Brandy and Monica have denied there being any actual rivalry, though Monica would later explain in a 2012 interview that there was some animosity due to both being "young" and letting their "differences" be "reasons not to be amongst each other."

The singers have reunited a number of times over the years, including for one of the more celebrated matches during the pandemic-era music battle series Verzuz.
