Is Elon Musk going to have a sit down with a Jersey guy?

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX who is now working with the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, posted, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” Musk was responding to an inquiry on X after “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewert ripped a 20-minute monologue on the perceived failings of DOGE on the Feb. 24 episode.

“We'd be delighted!” read the response from “The Daily show,” which tagged Musk.

Stewart, who lives in Middletown, became so fired up when talking about DOGE that he cut his hand when he slammed a coffee cup on the “Daily Show” desk.

“It seems that DOGE is struggling a bit to get its footing from made up claims about 50 million dollars of taxpayer money going to Gaza for condoms to billions in Social Security payments to dead people — a claim that turned out to not be real despite what you've heard,” Stewart said.

Instead, Stewart said, substantial cuts in government spending can be made if “we take $3 billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies who have earned billions in profit. Oh wait, how about we close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds, that's $1.3 billion a year. Oh, how about we stop the $2 trillion we're giving to defense contractors to build a fighter jet that blows when everyone knows the next war is going to be fought with drones and blockchain, whatever that is!”

Musk, a native of South Africa, is the unofficial head of DOGE.

“DOGE's total estimated savings are $65 billion, which is a combination of fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings,” states the DOGE website.

Stewart is a native of Lawrenceville who worked as a bartender at City Gardens music venue in Trenton. He won his 23rd Emmy Award for "The Daily Show" in September.

Comedy Central did not reply to a request for comment on the potential Musk appearance.
