Homer Simpson is a Bengals fan. At least that's what his tattoo suggests.

Yes, there are numerous Bengals and "The Simpsons" connections, but none are more clear than when Homer is asked to be in the Super Bowl halftime show because of his dancing in the Feb. 6, 2005 episode titled, "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass."

During the episode, Homer lifts up his shirt to reveal a "Go Bengals" tattoo across his belly.

"We should have guessed: lovable loser Homer Simpson is a Cincinnati Bengals fan," is what former Enquirer media reporter John Kiesewetter wrote at the time.

It was the eighth episode of the 16th season and it was part of Fox's post-Super Bowl lineup. It aired the same day that "American Dad!" premiered for the network and Tom Brady, whose voice appears on the episode, beat the Philadelphia Eagles for his third Super Bowl win.

The Bengals went to the Super Bowl in 1989, the year 'The Simpsons' debuted

Before this season, the Bengals hadn't been to the Super Bowl since January 1989. Well, about 11 months later on Dec. 17, 1989, TV was forever changed when "The Simpsons" debuted.

The episode was Christmas-themed and called "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire."

Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson, went to Ohio University

That's right. Nancy Cartwright is from Dayton and she spent her first two years of college attending Ohio University in Athens.

Athens, of course, is where Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is from and Ohio University is the school his father coached at as defensive coordinator for the Bobcats.

Cartwright transferred to UCLA after her sophomore year in the late 1970s.

Gambletron 2000 and the Bengals

In season three, episode 14 titled "Lisa the Greek," a machine called "Gambletron 2000" predicted Cincinnati would beat Miami by 200 points. Lisa, feeling ignored by Homer and wanting him to lose his bet, advises her father to bet Miami.

Miami beats Cincinnati and Lisa becomes a gambling guru. Go to the 23-second mark of this video:

Let's not forget Jerome Simpson

Of course the Bengals have their own Simpson who once made a play that every football fan has probably seen a highlight of over the years:
