Will 'Only Murders in the Building' return for Season 5? Here's what we know so far

The curtain draws on yet another season of "Only Murders in the Building," with the mystery around Sazz's murder solved, killer found and Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) finding his happy ending with the love of his life Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep).
But we all know in the universe of Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building," there's no such thing as a happy ending, because just as Arconia's trio celebrates their latest feat, they come face to face with another body.
In the final moments of Season 4's finale, Oliver, Mabel and Charles stumble upon a bloodied Lester, the building's sweet doorman, establishing him as next season's victim. Meanwhile, earlier on in the episode, a new character Sofia Caccimelio (Téa Leoni) approaches the trio asking for help with regards to her husband's disappearance, telling them that whatever happened to him "has everything to do with this building.”

Will there be 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 5?
Yes. Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin on Sept. 4 announced that "Only Murders in the Building" will be returning for a Season 5.
"We are coming back for a Season 5," Martin says in a video announcement.
"We hope you like it," Gomez adds.
Like all previous seasons, the new season will also have 10 episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Is there an 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 5 release date?
A release date for "Only Murders in the Building" has not yet been announced, though Gomez, Martin and Short talk about it in the video announcement.
"So, when would that be on?" Martin questions in the video.
"It would be 2025," Martin says, as Gomez adds: "We don't have the date. We've got to shoot it."
Previously, Seasons 1, 3 and 4 premiered in August 2024, while Season 2 dropped in June 2022, so it's possible that Season 5 would also drop sometime in the summer.

Hulu has not yet announced the cast for Season 5 of "Only Murders in the Building."

The Season 4 finale also hinted at the introduction of a new cast member "Madam President" star Téa Leoni, who made a brief appearance as Sofia Caccimelio.
