Jamie Foxx's new standup special brings laughs and revelations: How to watch
Jaime Foxx's return to the comedy circuit is generating plenty of buzz.
The "Django Unchained" star has a new special out on Netflix titled "What Had Happened Was...," which marks his return to the stage after a medical incident left him hospitalized last year.
The hourlong program provides a mix of heartfelt reflection and levity or, as Foxx himself put it, "If I can stay funny, I can stay alive."
While Foxx's hospitalization was initially shrouded in mystery, the comedian revealed in the special that he had been in a stroke-induced coma.
"I lost everything, but the only thing I could hold onto was my sense of humor," the actor said. "I couldn't necessarily walk that good, I couldn't talk that good, but I didn't let go of my funny."
Want to take in the special yourself? Here's how to tune in.

Jamie Foxx birthday dinner incident sent him to the hospital again
Just after the special's debut, Foxx found himself once again in the hospital this month after an incident at his 57th birthday.
Reps for Foxx confirmed to Paste BN on Saturday that the star had been struck by a thrown as glass when a fellow diner at Mr. Chow, a Beverly Hills hotspot, threw it from another table.
Foxx had stitches and is recovering, the rep confirmed. In an Instagram post Saturday the star weighed in on the incident, writing, "Can't win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it."
