Khloé Kardashian and ex-husband Lamar Odom had a bombshell reunion on Thursday's new episode of "The Kardashians."

In an on-camera catchup that Kardashian initially called "very awkward," the former couple rehashed their 2016 divorce and Odom's struggles with addiction that led to their split, as well as a life-threatening overdose in 2015.

With Odom, 45, seated on his living room couch and Kardashian, 40, sitting on the floor, the two-time NBA champion expressed regret about the end of their relationship. Meanwhile, Kardashian seemingly had a few things to get off her chest nearly a decade after he was found unresponsive due to using cocaine and sexual performance supplements while staying at a Nevada brothel.

They were ostensibly meeting up because the Good American founder and reality star still had "a trunk" full of Odom's belongings, including his championship rings, to return to him.

Kardashian — who first filed for divorce in 2013 before refiling in 2016, nearly half a year after Odom's overdose — recalled they'd "left on the worst ... of terms." "Last time I saw you, you couldn't speak," she told her ex-husband.

Meanwhile, Odom had a few gifts of his own, including a cake commemorating their wedding anniversary (the two married on Sept. 27, 2009, reportedly after just a few weeks of dating.)

At one point, the two get on the phone for a chat with "momager" Kris Jenner, who later gives an emotional confessional about seeing the ex-couple communicate again.

Though she claims she "blacked out" for parts of their conversation, it appears to have been a productive one for Kardashian, who says: "I am ready to start my 40s fresh and free."

Khloé Kardashian 'almost lost myself' while 'trying to save' Lamar Odom

After seemingly sharing his regret about being unfaithful to Kardashian during their seven-year marriage, Odom heaps praise on his ex-wife, saying, "I will be blessed if I can ever find someone even close to the way you held me down — and your spirit. How being around you made me want to be my best self. I just wish I would've shown that. Because you're worth it."

Kardashian insists in a confessional that she gave their marriage her all before calling it quits: "I didn't just let go. ... You don't always get second chances. You can't keep doing (expletive) and expect people just to stay around."

As if facing his ex-wife wasn't enough, Odom then faces the hurdle of reuniting with his former mother-in-law.

"I don't even know if I can look Kris in the face," Odom says. He explains this is because he "can't fathom ... the way that I was doing drugs." However, he adds: "What made me stop was wanting to be next to my children, wanting their respect." He has two adult children, Destiny and Lamar Jr.

Kardashian expresses empathy for the demons Odom has faced. "Addiction is a disease," she says, but "the truth is no one can save someone from that other than that own individual."

"I tried countless times to save Lamar from that," she adds. "I almost lost myself, and I probably did at some points, trying to save him."

Kris Jenner cries as she expresses 'forgiveness' for Lamar Odom

The FaceTime call with Jenner appears to go well, with the ex-Lakers star saying, "I'm so much better now. I'm here with the beauty here of my life, with the love of my life here, praying for her to forgive me."

Later, he adds: "She's the best wife ever, mom."

In her own confessional, Jenner cries as she reflects on her third daughter's struggles with her past relationship. "For her to have the strength to do that, I'm very proud of her. I'm proud of Lamar for coming because that had to be hard for him to walk in," she says.

"I feel a lot of forgiveness for him and obviously love him and felt bad that he had this addiction that he couldn't control," Jenner continued. "And I was devastated for my child (for whom) that was the love of her life. And she thought that was her happily ever after, and it didn't work out that way for them."

Khloé confronts Lamar about his overdose

After Odom was found unconscious in October 2015, he experienced "six heart attacks (and) 12 strokes," Kardashian says. And she's not even sure how much of the months-long recovery Odom remembers.

"Kobe (Bryant) walked in when we had to do a lung surgery on you," she says. "I was there through it all. I remember everything. I didn't leave you for four months. I got a staph infection because I lived in a hospital for four months."

Kardashian then wants to know: "Have you never thought why did we ever stop talking completely?" to which Odom replies: "Because of how I did drugs after that." Kardashian expresses her shock that even a near-fatal event wouldn't stave off his addiction.

"I can't even tell you if he was even thinking," Odom says of his past self.

When Kardashian reveals she punched Odom in the face and "shattered everything in that house," Odom responds, "I don't remember that."

The NBA Sixth Man of the Year recipient comes away feeling "100 pounds" off his shoulders and hopes "to continue to move on and hopefully continue to get to know" Kardashian.

"I'm cool enough to be your friend. As I grow older and start to realize what I might've affected because of that is hurtful," Odom says.

Kim Kardashian jokes: 'Should I call Kris Humphries?'

Despite being seemingly overwhelmed by reuniting with her ex-husband, a "relieved" Kardashian appears to be grateful for the sit-down. She also describes it as "really sad."

"I feel proud of myself that I met with Lamar," she says. "I feel this is a part of my shedding process while I am preparing to get into my fourth decade of life."

Later in the episode, she springs the surprise about her conversation with Odom on older sister Kim Kardashian.

"Should I call Kris Humphries?" Kim replies, referring to the NBA veteran and her second spouse. Khloé deadpans, "That's what I'm saying. Get all the husbands on here."

After Kim says, "Maybe that's what happens when you get married in nine days," Khloé takes the dig in stride.

"I do agree that I got married way too quickly. But also, if someone asked if I would change anything, I wouldn't change a thing," she says. "That was the love of my life. If it wasn't for drugs, I know we would still be married today."

She doesn't want to be friends with her ex, though. "He would gain so much more out of that friendship than I should gain. I'm not missing anything. He doesn't add anything to my life. I feel like that would be such a one-way friendship," she tells Kim and Jenner.
