Rams dupe Seahawks, score TD on fake field goal (VIDEO)
Turnabout is fair play, even eight years later.
The St. Louis Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 19-13 on Sunday thanks in part to rookie P Johnny Hekker throwing a 2-yard TD pass to WR Danny Amendola on a fake field goal.
The Seahawks seemed to lose track of Amendola, who was lurking near the sideline before snap and caught the ball in the end zone with nary a 'Hawk defender in sight.
The officials initially flagged by the play. But after conferring -- imagine that -- they got it right and awarded St. Louis the score.
It stirred memories of the New England Patriots victimizing the Rams on a similar play, also at the Edward Jones Dome, back in 2004. That time, then-Patriots K Adam Vinatieri tossed a 4-yard TD to a wide-open Troy Brown during a 40-22 New England win.
