A pig-elephant hybrid at LSU tailgate (PHOTO)
Elephant: the other other white meat.
Ok, seriously. The picture we're about to share from a tailgate in Baton Rouge is not actually an elephant – because that's wrong.
So, so wrong. I am wholly and entirely against anything that harms any elephant, big or small (especially small).
Please, if you ever see any harm come to an elephant, alert the authorities.
This is simply a pig's head with pork accoutrements. That's not a real elephant trunk or real elephant ears, but some sort of pork product shaped into looking like a set of trunk and ears.
An image of this being roasted on a spit, one shared by ESPN The Magazine's Twitter account, created quite a stir this morning. Another image of the pig pre-roasting is a little too nasty to share.
But the finished product is just… gross. The sign reads, "R.I.P. 11-3-12." The writing on the paper plate reads, "Elephant graveyard fund." There's a dollar in the cup.
Just so we're clear: Alabama's the Crimson Tide, but the mascot is an elephant. Make sense? And again, let's protect the real elephants.
