Cheerleader falls on head, carted off during Magic-Knicks
An Orlando Magic stunt team member was able to wave to the crowd after a scary fall Tuesday night during a game against the New York Knicks.
Jamie Woode was being lifted onto a man's shoulders when her footing slipped. She fell, apparently landing headfirst.
UPDATE: Woode is expected to make a full recovery
Orlando Magic Stunt Team Member Jamie and her family wish to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
She is in stable condition after suffering three vertebrae fractures and a broken rib while falling during a performance in the Magic's game against the Knicks on Tuesday night.
She suffered no neurological damage and is expected to make a full recovery.
She and her family respectfully ask for privacy at this time.
Woode was carted off, causing a delay in the game which the Knicks won 99-89. She waved to the crowd from a stretcher before being taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
"Breathing on her own, moving her extremities, according to paramedics which attended to her," Magic spokesman Joel Glass said in an e-mail.
