Nets' Reggie Evans first player fined for flopping
Welcome to the NBA history books, Reggie Evans.
The Brooklyn Nets forward was fined $5,000 for flopping in Tuesday's 95-90 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, becoming the first player to receive such a penalty, the NBA announced Wednesday. Evans was penalized for veering off and throwing his hands up after receiving a bump from Lakers forward Metta World Peace in the third quarter.
Both World Peace and Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni objected to officials after a foul was called.
After the game, World Peace took to Twitter to criticize Evans and Nets forward Gerald Wallace for flopping.
Evans previously was warned for flopping in the Nets' win last Thursday against the Boston Celtics.
Another infraction by Evans would draw a $10,000 fine. A fourth would yield a $15,000 penalty, followed by a $20,000 penalty for a fifth and a possible suspension for a sixth and subsequent incidents.
