Wizards extend losing streak in spectacular fashion

The Washington Wizards remain perfectly blemished at 0-10, but the Atlanta Hawks needed a few late breaks Wednesday in a 101-100 victory to avoid becoming the first team to fall to the NBA's only winless squad.

With the Hawks down two and 7.3 seconds left in overtime, Devin Harris drew two defenders and shoveled a pass to Kyle Korver.

You can probably tell how the story ended for the career 41.4 percent 3-point shooter.

But the Wizards still had a chance to respond with 1.9 seconds remaining, the Wizards had more than enough time to respond. Kevin Seraphin missed a jumper, but Martell Webster's putback at the buzzer seemed to put Washington on top for good.

But officials reviewed the shot and determined that the ball was still in Webster's hand as time expired. Hawks win, and the drought continues.

"Our video showed it's good," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said after the game, according to The Associated Press.

Deny 'til you die -- or until you've registered a win. And with the Bobcats, Spurs, Trail Blazers and Knicks up next on the schedule, the Wizards could be waiting quite a while.
